Description Organic hotel
The completely newly renovated Villa Waldfrieden is located on the Elbe in Schmilka, a district of Bad Schandau, right next to the Bio-Hotel Helvetia.
A biologically renovated monument from the turn of the century with magnificent wooden balconies, located on the sunny side of the Elbe in the middle of a 2-hectare park with its own Elbe meadow, beach and a view of the famous Schrammsteine.
A garden like those on the northern Italian lakes with old and rare trees, beautiful park paths, benches, loungers and old cypress trees, which spread a spicy scent in the evening, invites you to linger.
The extravagant interiors of the rooms are the result of the hosts' numerous travels. They tell stories from Spain to China, from India to Japan, individually and uniquely. Around the world in 8 days!

Description of the organic hotel features:
With us you don't just reserve a simple overnight stay - with us you reserve the three pillars of the organic refuge: healthy sleep, organic cuisine and unique experiences!
The organic boutique hotel Villa Waldfrieden has been renovated in an ecologically friendly manner, the rooms are furnished according to building biology standards: with soaped wooden floors, natural colors and textiles, natural latex mattresses and an electrosmog-free room climate.
What should be emphasized is the holistic focus on organic and health. This is also reflected in our year-round cultural programs - the so-called rituals. A variety of experiences await you - morning yoga, guided hikes, herbal workshops and sound meditation. But guided tours of the historic mill and the in-house brewery are also a must.
The offer is rounded off by a natural healing practice in which alternative practitioner and nutritionist Norbert Schützner offers a diverse program of therapeutic massages and wellness treatments. - Facebook site

Description of sustainability:
The motto "100% organic" is lived in Schmilka: from fresh organic vitality cuisine made from organically grown and preferably regional ingredients, to the use of green electricity from renewable energy sources such as solar energy or waste heat, to our own herb and tomato garden.
We are also particularly interested in ecologically friendly building issues. Our houses have been ecologically renovated, the guest rooms are furnished according to building biology standards: with soaped wooden floors, natural colors and textiles, natural latex mattresses and an electrosmog-free room climate. -

Description of the SPA area:
Just let your mind wander…
When lovingly renovating the bathhouse, we paid attention to holistic design and building biology - the walls are plastered with clay, chopped hay and quark, the local wood was only soaped, so that the wonderful scent of wood has a completely relaxing effect. A sauna infusion made from purely essential organic oils makes every sauna session a pleasure. The gemstone water ensures that you can drink enough and thus keep your body's water balance in balance.
The panoramic sauna attracts with its wonderful view of the picturesque Mühlenhof. Enjoy our Finnish sauna (90°C) or relax in our organic sauna (65-70°C). - Health applications
-
Description of health applications:
A naturopathic practice in the Bio-Hotel Helvetia, supervised by alternative practitioner and nutritionist Norbert Schützner, guarantees conscious health programs. He treats using natural healing methods, the principle of which is to revitalize the body and encourage it to heal itself or prevent serious illnesses.
Everyone is welcome in the practice, be it to treat yourself to a massage to relax, to do something good for your body, or to get rid of complaints. Since every person reacts differently to their environment and therefore has different treatment needs, Norbert Schützner tailors the therapies and applications individually to your body. Using alternative natural healing methods, he determines the level required for your balance. - naturopathic practice

Description of hotel and room facilities:
Organic boutique hotel Villa Waldfrieden - around the world in 8 days!
TAJ MAHAL - Sure, the Taj Mahal in India. We have traveled a lot in the Middle and Far East and always loved this mixture of the Arabian Nights. Sitting on floors & porches, brass accessories, the beautiful scents of spices, colors and silks and the happiness of these people. We tried to capture a bit of that atmosphere in this room. It also has a beautiful wooden veranda with a view of the Elbe.
SAFARI - We have often been to Afria, Kenya, Tanzania and most recently with the Dresden Dakar Rally in West Africa. We were amazed by the nature and wildlife there. The room is cozy and in the typical red and brown of the African earth. On the balcony, the evenings are like on the veranda of the lodge at the Ngorongoro Crater. Only the roar of the lions is missing. The apartment has two rooms and two balconies.
GAUDI - We caught an evening ticket for the Sagrada Familia and the last rays of sunshine captured our hearts through the glass art of Gaudi. The sunsets in the Elbe Valley are just as unique when the Schrammsteine and the sky glow in the afterglow. Caspar David Friedrich had already captured the special atmosphere in his pictures of the “Elbe Mountains”. His colleague Gaudi can be found here especially in the crazy bathroom. Like all bathrooms in the house, it is a total work of art. The apartment faces west and has two rooms and two balconies.
LA PETITE - We know France through the songs of Piaf or Charles Aznavour, the procurement of spare parts for old BMWs, Limoges, the Midi Pyrenees de Auvergne - there is hardly a corner of this country that we have not already explored. We were always fascinated by the delicious patisseries. You can also find a little bit of it in Café Richter. La Petit is a small, bright room with lots of sun, a balcony and a wide view of the Elbe valley, downstream to the Schrammsteine.
FANDIAN - Fandian is the Chinese word for hotel. There we always made fun of the pots of hot water for green tea and were surprised that most hotels were always decorated in such an American style. But you can also get green tea from us. Our Fandian is equipped with antique elements that you no longer find in Chinese hotels. There are also other beautiful old cabinets in our house that we brought with us from Shanghai.
ALI BABA - As a child, I constantly devoured Hauff's Little Muck, especially the DEFA version by Wolfgang Staudte. I found some of it in the Middle East but actually only really found it in Morocco. In the early 90s we visited the royal cities with the caravan and that's where we found it, this fairy tale from the Thousand and One Nights. And sleeping like a fairytale is always the order of the day in this Alibaba, even if the 40 robbers are missing. All our guests say that the oriental bath is a dream; it also reminds us of Aladdin with his magic lamp.
HIGH NORTH - Once it was more of a spare room because it was in the attic. It is still under the attic, but now opulently rebuilt with a huge floor-to-ceiling window facing west towards the Schrammsteine. It is reminiscent of a 3-day train trip in February to Bodö and then by boat to the Lofoten to dance under the curtains of the northern lights. The Schrammsteine are super photogenic from here, especially with a bottle of “Prickel” and perhaps Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”.
FUJI SAN - Mr. Fujisan, the mountain that rises above everything impressed us very much, like many other things in Japan. Back then, you couldn't spend more than 60 U$ for an overnight stay in a typical Japanese hostel. So we mostly slept on a rice straw mat on the floor. These impressive experiences have also been incorporated into Fuji San. Typical elements from Japan, one of our most popular rooms and almost always fully booked.
As individual as our rooms are, they also have a lot in common:
