Description Organic hotel
Schmilka, a district of the town of Bad Schandau, is located right next to the Saxon Switzerland National Park and has been awarded the title “Most Beautiful Village in Saxony”.
Small half-timbered houses crowd up the hill to the historic mill, where flour is still ground and traditional crafts are practiced in the neighboring organic bakery and brewery.
On the Elbe there are fine hotels, stylish holiday apartments and an organic restaurant with a panoramic view of the Schrammsteine and the Elbe.
In winter, Schmilka is transformed into a winter fairy tale - lanterns and fairy lights bathe the place in a warm light, the fireplace in the mill yard spreads a cozy warmth and the smell of fresh baked goods and mulled wine. The highlight is without a doubt the heated hot tubs in the Mühlenhof.

Our organic restaurant StrandGut is open daily for both lunch and evening. In addition to home-style cooking, we also offer vegetarian and vegan dishes here.
In summer, in the Schmilk'sche Mühle you can enjoy a cool, home-brewed organic beer, hearty food to strengthen you after the hike and cakes the size of wagon wheels in the cozy beer garden by the mill's water wheel. In winter you can warm yourself by the fireplace in the mill room.
