Description Organic hotel
The Sieben Linden eco-village has existed since 1997. It is a holistic community project with the aim of implementing sustainable lifestyles that greatly reduce the ecological footprint.
Sieben Linden sees itself as an eco-village and a community. Living together and at the same time respecting and honoring the needs and special characteristics of every person – that is our vision and daily challenge. Our basis for this is transparency and building trust in contact, honest and careful communication, mutual appreciation and decision-making on a broad basis.
Our overarching goal in Sieben Linden is to reduce the ecological footprint (the area on earth that a person uses with their respective lifestyle) in all areas of life.
The areas of ecology, social affairs, culture and economics go hand in hand to combine a sustainable way of life with a high quality of life. The ecovillage can only be understood against the background of its lively community life.
The straw
Our Strohtel offers pure eco-luxury and is the first accommodation facility in Germany to be built with straw and clay: clay plaster ensures a pleasant indoor climate, straw walls for insulation. The ventilation system with heat recovery and thermal solar systems minimize heating energy consumption. When there isn't enough sun, we heat with wood from our forests.
An interior design predominantly handmade in Sieben Linden as well as dry separation toilets and green roofs round off the sustainability of the house. All rooms in the Strohtel have the option of switching off the electricity circuit in the rooms completely at night. Wired LAN connections are available in all Strohtel rooms.
6 rooms can be used as single or double rooms - all with shared bathrooms, but with their own sink

2 wheelchair-accessible double rooms (can also be booked as single rooms) with their own bathroom on the ground floor - appropriate options for wheelchair users

We pass on our experiences to those interested in a variety of educational and visit offerings. Feel free to come by for a seminar or a vacation! We also offer some of our educational content as online courses. We offer stays as part of a seminar participation as well as holiday offers with supervision! The eco-village Sieben Linden is located in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel and belongs to the village of Poppau, municipality of Beetzendorf. Poppau is located in the Hamburg – Hanover – Berlin triangle and is approximately 50 km northeast of Wolfsburg and 25 km south of Salzwedel. In the eco-village, the “Sonneneck” seminar area is in the first building on the left, directly on the path. Please use the entrance to the “Sonneneck” with the canopy and glass porch. Getting to Poppau by train and bus: Sieben Linden or Poppau has its own bus stop “Ökodorf Sieben Linden” directly connected to bus 300 (Wolfsburg – Salzwedel). Simply enter “Ökodorf Sieben Linden” as your destination on the train homepage or in the app, then a connection will be displayed directly to us with the bus line. Please note that only the train price, not the bus price, is booked at bahn.de. This is paid in cash (!) on the bus (3-6 EUR, Bahncard will be taken into account). In Wolfsburg, the bus stop to Poppau is the first bus stop diagonally to the left opposite the train station exit on the other side of the street, bus platform 13. If there are train delays on the route, you can report this to the bus company PVGS on line 300 and in exceptional cases the bus will even wait for up to 15 minutes: PVGS Tel. 03901-304030.
