At the Rosenberg Ayurveda Health and Spa Center the door opens to a place where the world takes a break. This is all about you!
The journey takes you to Birstein, a quiet village at the foot of the Vogelsberg. As soon as you enter the courtyard, you can feel that this place has a special energy. There is a hint of herbs and spices in the air, the whole house exudes calm.
Vastu Shastra – architecture of the old masters
Why is that? The owner Mark Rosenberg has carefully designed the property according to the criteria of Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian architectural theory. His ideas have turned the former forester's lodge in Hesse into a stylish therapy center where historical and modern design elements flow together.
Place of power & oasis of peace
Together with an idyllic spa garden, many flowering plants and water lilies on the pond, a little paradise has gradually emerged in Birstein. This harmony also seems to be transferred to the people who work here. Mindfulness for one another is part of the Ayurvedic view of the world and is lived by everyone.

Internationally recognized competence center for Ayurveda
Highly qualified Ayurveda doctors and therapists from Germany and India lead the medical treatments in the Rosenberg Center, which has been internationally regarded as one of the most renowned Ayurveda institutions in Europe for almost 30 years. The European Academy of Ayurveda is also located on the site. Anyone who would like to study Ayurveda medicine or do in-depth Ayurveda training will also find what they are looking for in Birstein.
Ayurveda for regeneration or as medicine
Guests who want to gain new energy and deeply recover through a Rasayana treatment come to the Rosenberg Kurzentrum. Yogis and yoginis also find it a wonderful addition to their practice. Of course, asanas keep the body supple, but you need more to be really healthy: a diet that optimally supports your constitution and a lifestyle that is appropriate for your type. Plus the experience of simply letting yourself go: into the expert hands of Ayurvedic therapists who open up new dimensions of relaxation. Other guests bring a health topic with them and use Ayurveda in addition to modern medicine, for example in a classic Pancakarma treatment.
A Pancakarma treatment begins with a thorough consultation. There is time for this because the spa management looks after a maximum of 24 guests, so that everyone receives an individual therapy plan. Warm oils, soothing massages and steam baths release old ballast from the tissues, which are then removed using one or more of the five cleansing processes (Pancakarma). A liberating experience for body and mind.
Organic certified Ayurvedic cuisine
Then it's time to restart. Strengthening herbs and manual therapies rebuild the organism, supported by sophisticated dishes from the legendary vegetarian organic cuisine. The chefs were personally familiarized with Ayurvedic principles by the well-known nutrition expert and author Kerstin Rosenberg and conjure up tasty menus made from fresh regional ingredients.
There is even a portion of Ayurveda to take home: Lively lectures and a cooking demo give tips on how Ayurvedic life can be successful in everyday life. Between treatments there is time to simply be: let yourself be surrounded by light in the cozy lounge, stroll through the idyllic garden or enjoy your new sense of well-being while doing yoga. The Ayurvedic cuisine in Birstein has had the EU organic seal since 2011. In our house you will find many places to relax and unwind so that you can enjoy your holiday with Ayurveda to the fullest. A light-flooded lounge, a library with Ayurvedic literature and selected fiction as well as a cozy winter garden that houses a café and a shop for organic Ayurvedic products.
Our beautiful spa center in Birstein is embedded in an idyllic garden with a pond, pavilion, lawn and yoga flat with distant views.
Proximity to untouched nature is an important element for holistic regeneration in Ayurveda: in contact with plants, animals and the forces of nature we find inner peace and vital life energy for body and mind.
Local, Ayurvedic-classified medicinal plants grow on the site and can be experienced here with all the senses. The botanist Dr. Christina Oxfordt created this herb garden lovingly and expertly.

Arriving by car:
Birstein is located 70 km northeast of Frankfurt am Main. It is easy to reach via the A66.
• From the direction of Frankfurt, take the Wartensbach/Bad Orb exit. Shortly after entering Birstein, turn right. This route takes you to Obersotzbach, even if the place is not yet signposted. However, you can follow our Rosenberg signs, which will show you the way from the entrance to Birstein directly to Forsthausstraße 6 in Obersotzbach.
• From the direction of Fulda, leave the motorway at the Steinau an der Straße exit. Turn left immediately after the motorway and immediately turn left again towards Marborn. Follow the L3196 road straight ahead through the towns of Romsthal/Eckardroth and Katholisch-Willenroth to Untersotzbach. There you turn right towards Obersotzbach and follow the signs to Forsthausstraße.
Arrival by train:
• You can easily get to Fulda, Hanau or Frankfurt from anywhere with the ICE. There you change to the regional express Frankfurt-Fulda, the destination station is Waechtersbach or Bad Soden-Salmünster. From there, a bus or taxi will take you comfortably to Obersotzbach within 15 minutes, stop Alte Schule in Obersotzbach (300 m or 2 minutes walk to the spa center).
• Shared call taxi: Parallel to the train arrival times from the direction of Frankfurt (arrival from the direction of Fulda with a 25 minute layover), a cost-effective (no additional payment for holders of a valid RMV ticket) AST connection (collected call taxi line 76a) runs from Bad Soden train station. Salmünster towards Birstein. Services run every 2 hours on weekdays from 7:20 a.m. to 7:20 p.m., and every 2 hours on weekends, Sundays and public holidays from 6:20 a.m. to 8:20 p.m.
• Book an AST from Bad Soden-Salmünster train station to the Alte Schule stop in Obersotzbach (300 m or 2 minutes walk to the spa center) here at least 60 minutes before the start of your journey, or for early journeys by 8 p.m. the evening before, by calling 0800 05 84 584. .
• If you take bus number 72 from Waechtersbach, there is an AST connection from 5:02 a.m. via Birstein bus station every 2 hours on weekdays to the Alte Schule stop in Obersotzbach. On weekends, Sundays and public holidays from 7:02 a.m.!
