The federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate in the very west of the republic is a very wooded region with the rivers Rhine, Moselle, Lahn and Saar as well as a few smaller rivers (Nahe, Sieg and others). There are eight nature parks in the Rhineland. One of the largest is the Nassau Nature Park , covering around 500 km² . The Lahn flows through it. The children love this as well as the adventure playground with water play area, giant slide, rope park and climbing wall, while teens and adults enjoy the beach volleyball field, the soccer field and the basketball court. The park has existed since 2000 and was built for the first state horticultural show in Rhineland-Palatinate. Partly it is on the Kaiserberg, partly below on flat terrain. Botanical highlights include the cactus, blind, Bible and rose gardens.
