Description Organic hotel

Our organic hotel is a place of power in the foothills of the Alps with a holistic, sustainable concept. Those seeking relaxation will find peace and relaxation in the middle of nature here. Birthdays, family celebrations and small weddings can be celebrated in our stately country estate with its spacious garden. Our hotel at the gates of Munich also offers green meeting and seminar opportunities and many cultural offerings in the nearby area. The 40 individually furnished rooms and suites are free of electrosmog and allergy-friendly. With the motto “Farm to Table” we pay respect to both the processed products and the local suppliers. Our own vegetable field complies with the regulations of Demeter e.V. Our philosophy of living in harmony with nature is omnipresent, certified by the “BIO HOTELS” label and as a partner of Bioland.

With us you can spend your holiday relaxing in the middle of nature. The Schlossgut Oberambach is surrounded by 45 hectares of forest and meadows, just a few minutes' walk from Lake Starnberg. Enjoy the view of the Alps and the lake while taking a walk through our extensive gardens. In between, you can make yourself comfortable on one of the seating and lying areas hidden throughout the greenery and let the energy of the place of power work its magic on you.

As a hotel close to nature, we pamper your palate with regional and seasonal organic cuisine. The holistic ecological approach continues throughout the entire house: mains connection, allergy-friendly wall heating and oiled wooden floors are available in most rooms. We also had the first system built in the region that stores rainwater in underground cisterns and uses it for flushing and garden irrigation. With a wood chip heating system, we ensure the in-house generation of electricity and heat.

As part of the sustainable concept, the Schlossgut Oberambach's conference offerings also take nature into consideration. Conference guests use the five modular rooms, which were recently renovated in 2021, in a quiet ambience and equipped with the latest technology. When the weather is nice, meetings take place in separate areas of the extensive park. Incentives such as stand-up paddling, archery and herb hikes round off our green meetings; healthy, organic snacks are available during the breaks.

House guests and day-trippers enjoy our farm barbecue every Thursday evening. Organic meat and fish from regional retailers then sizzle to perfection over the wood fire in the smoker. We also provide vegan alternatives such as grilled vegetables from the field, steaming baked potatoes and various types of tofu. From Tuesday to Saturday you can enjoy the à la carte menu in our public restaurant on the sun terrace, in the vault or in the winter garden.

  • Description of the gastronomy: “Organic” has been a given for us at Schlossgut Oberambach for more than 20 years. We even go one step further: “Farm to Table” is our culinary motto. The respectful handling of high-quality food is the motto. In addition, we minimize transport routes by working with local farmers, butchers and fishermen and thus focus on seasonality and absolute freshness. Most of the vegetables, salads and herbs come from our own Demeter field and go straight from there to the hotel kitchen.

    Enjoy our à la carte menu on the sun terrace, in the vault or in the winter garden of our public restaurant from Tuesday to Saturday between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Every Thursday between 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. there is a farm BBQ with organic meat and fish from local suppliers from the smoker. Of course, we also provide vegan alternatives such as grilled vegetables, baked potatoes and various types of tofu. There is also a colorful salad buffet, pretzels and house bread from the organic bakery. The ingredients for the starters and side dishes buffet mostly come from our vegetable field. A delicious dessert rounds off the evening.

    Another highlight awaits house guests and day trippers between April and October: every Sunday, weather permitting, you have the opportunity to enjoy “organic to go” snacks on our picnic meadow with a view of Lake Starnberg and the Alps.

Our house's philosophy of living in harmony with the environment can be felt by guests in our green oasis in several ways.

    A few lengths in the natural swimming pond surrounded by reeds and trees will help you cool down. A geomancy expert designed the shape and arrangement of the stones according to Feng Shui guidelines. In keeping with our organic promise, no chemicals are used. Special bank plants clean the pool, the small waterfall provides oxygen, and Grander and soft rainwater are also supplied. If the ten by ten meter pond isn't enough for you, you can walk a few minutes to our property with direct access to Lake Starnberg, the fifth largest of its kind in Germany.

    When the weather is good, the Alpine peaks can be seen in the middle of forests and meadows and, despite the many centuries-old giant trees, there are numerous smaller views of Lake Starnberg.
