New family hotel on Biohotels.de: Welcome, Linara family!

"li" for little, "na" for nature, "ra" for ranger: The linara family from Vals in South Tyrol is another new addition to our community. Welcome!

In 2025, Nadia and Florian Gatterer transformed the traditional "Gattererhof" guesthouse into a modern organic family hotel with a wellness area . Their concept: to create a harmonious environment for both young and old, in harmony with nature. Adventures for the kids. Relaxation for the parents.

With Florian's experience as a restaurateur and organic farmer, and Nadia's background in environmental management , Little Nature Ranger was born. Their own organic farm plays a central role. Sheep, goats, calves, ponies, rabbits, and chickens are all part of the childcare experience, as are egg collecting, a visit to the barn, and baking bread together in the wood-fired oven. Plenty of time outdoors, lots of nature, lots of exercise, all supervised by qualified educators.

Sustainability has always been important to the Gatterer family: For over 25 years, the hotel has heated with wood chips from the surrounding forests, and they were the first house in the village to generate renewable electricity with a photovoltaic system. When renovating, the family prefers wood from their own forest, natural stone, and sheep's wool. For this commitment, the linara has been awarded the official South Tyrol sustainability seal.

Linara is also a pioneer in organic cuisine: The kitchen bears the gold seal of Bio Fair Südtirol, the highest certification level for restaurants with at least 90 percent organic ingredients. Oats, barley, potatoes, corn, vegetables, and herbs come from the restaurant's own fields, the eggs from the on-site henhouse – the rest comes from reliable organic partners in the region.

For Nadia and Florian Gatterer, an enjoyable holiday and responsibility for nature are not mutually exclusive; quite the opposite. Ecology is an essential part of their holiday experience.
