Description of sustainability:
The Rehlegg is GreenSign certified with the highest possible standard “Five”.
Energy efficiency measures ensure that we only consume approximately 50% of the final energy, 50% less than comparable 4* hotels. CO2 emissions are also 50% lower in comparison. We offset the remaining emissions in various gold standard projects in Germany and internationally.
We have two solar thermal systems that we primarily use to heat our swimming pools.
Thanks to solar thermal energy, up to 14,000 liters of heating oil can be saved per year.
The hotel's three photovoltaic systems produce approximately 90,000 kilowatt hours of solar power per year. Together with the electricity generated by the two new combined heat and power plants at Rehlegg, this amounts to about 110 percent of the electricity consumed by the hotel each year. A small part is still taken from the grid and on the other side a part is fed back into the grid.
The CHP plants are fueled with CO2-neutral propane. For every ton of propane purchased, we also support the PrimaKlima association in reforestation projects. Rehlegg has had 23,151 trees planted so far. In addition, employees regularly plant young plants in the Ramsau mountain forest (over 1300 trees so far)
Many of the food products at Rehlegg are sourced from the surrounding area. For meat, poultry and fish it is almost 100 percent. The meat comes predominantly from small-scale farming. Game is supplied by the Berchtesgaden Forestry Service and the Berchtesgadener Land National Park.

The handmade Hästens mattresses made from the finest natural products ensure a restful sleep.
