Description Organic hotel
“Varm – the vegan farm” – is probably the only 100% vegan provider of “holidays on the farm” in southern Styria. Ideal for nature and animal lovers, dog lovers and especially vegans or those who want to become vegans.
After years of renovation and restoration of our country idyll and little paradise in southern Styria - the so-called Styrian Tuscany - the doors have recently been opened to guests.
We welcome people and animals on our organic-vegan farm and accommodate them in the magically romantic “Kellerstöckl”, a restored winery/press house that features a harmonious mix of shabby-chic, country house and industrial style with some autochthonous rural elements Style was designed and furnished. When restoring things ourselves, we placed great emphasis on sustainable, biological materials as well as re-using or upcycling old items.
Since we ourselves, as well as our dogs and, of course, our Cameroon sheep, which were saved from slaughter, live purely vegan lives, we only spoil our guests with vegan delicacies. With great passion, we surprise omnivores by showing what is possible from classic cuisine when veganized and in the process also seduce them to rethink their eating habits - so far with great success for all guests who are not already vegan!
The entire courtyard area, consisting of the main house, the Kellerstöckl, old stables and farm buildings, is fenced in and offers a large enough garden area on an area of approx. 3,000 square meters to enjoy a relaxed holiday with your dog. The immediately adjacent areas - orchard, vineyard, meadows and vegetable field - also belong to the farm and can also be used by guests if necessary.
Since we ourselves have 3 dogs that move freely in the garden, frequent encounters and activities with the dogs are unavoidable - our Labradors are real "fight cuddlers", Hofzerberus Ella, a Greek herd guard dog from a shelter in Euboea, guards the yard and all residents with eagle eyes and great enthusiasm. However, it can take two or three days for guests to be recognized as “residents”.
Therefore, the domicile is rather unsuitable for people who are afraid of dogs or feel impaired by them, as well as for small children in general.

At this point we could tell you a lot about organic products, their production and processing, their administration, healthy nutrition or why high-quality, organic cosmetics and care products are essential for physical well-being. But none of that would do this place justice:
Probably the most important asset concerns, or rather touches on, the "BIOlogy" of mind and soul - it is the magic of this place, the incomparable energy and the inner peace that it creates and has so far captivated everyone. Many came with big ideas and lots of plans for things to do and once they arrived they just wanted to sit here, look, enjoy or daydream. Almost everyone who arrived didn't want to leave.
Perhaps the kind spirit of the natural healer Maria Koch, who lived and worked here on this farm many generations ago, is still noticeable today and is responsible for this magic.

Description of sustainability:
Due to structural conditions, the “Kellerstöckl” holiday home may be heated with electric radiators. All lights throughout the farm and of course also in the holiday home are energy-efficient LED lights, the bathroom is equipped with underfloor heating, which creates a pleasant room climate at significantly lower temperatures than would be required with conventional wall radiators. In addition, the low rooms and the clay plaster on the walls and ceiling ensure a pleasant room climate and comparatively low energy requirements.
We obtain our green electricity from a small, local hydropower operator, i.e. 100% from renewable energy sources. -

Guests can choose from several variations of breakfast (the breakfast menu is available or published on our homepage or can be sent upon request). Description of hotel and room facilities:
The entire house can be booked as a holiday apartment for the short or long term, has a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, anteroom, bathroom with tub, shower, toilet and washing machine as well as a fully equipped kitchen with a comfortable dining area, a total of approx. 55 square meters and plenty of space in front and around the house for outdoor living.
Apart from a microwave oven (out of conviction) and a dishwasher (due to lack of space or weighing up aesthetic vs. practical requirements - aesthetics won), the kitchen offers everything that even ambitious chefs could desire. Connoisseurs will enjoy the espresso machine (portafilter , of course no capsules or pads) and a stylish smoothie maker with a matching retro look also offers the opportunity to enjoy a delicious vital drink made from freshly harvested herbs or fruit (raspberries, gooseberries, blackberries, blueberries, currants).
Of course, in addition to the usual kitchen utensils, there are plenty of pots, pans, sieves, bowls, casserole dishes and baking dishes, as well as hand blenders, choppers and kitchen scales, so that you can also enjoy making your own bread or cakes in the oven.
The bathroom with underfloor heating ensures a feel-good atmosphere in the cooler seasons. Of course, there is also a hairdryer and your own washing machine allows you to stay for longer periods without having to carry tons of clothes with you.
Attention early risers: if you have an appointment or have an activity planned for the early hours of the morning, you should definitely bring a reliable alarm clock and not rely on your usual sleep rhythm! The number of those who thought they always got up with the chickens anyway and then fell into a comatose Sleeping Beauty sleep until mid-morning is legion! Only the cowbells from the cows in the neighbor's pasture or the good morning bleating from our sheep could irritate light sleepers now and then - otherwise deep sleep guaranteed!

- Description of the environment: Our little paradise lies on a gentle hill about 30m above the Sulmtal and offers an unobstructed view from east to south to west of gently rolling meadows, pastures and fields that are surrounded by forest at a distance of 200 - 700m. Just to the south of us, 9km as the crow flies, a mountain ridge rises above the treetops, which marks the border to Slovenia between the Remschnigg Alm and the Radlpass. Our farm is located right on the last foothills of the easternmost Alps, the Koralpen massif in the west and the rugged hills of the so-called "Styrian Tuscany" that begin immediately south and east of us with their steep vineyards, the typical cypress-like poplars and the local wind turbines " Klapotetz" shape the unmistakable landscape of southern Styria. By car it takes 30 minutes. to the Soboth Pass or to the bathing idyll Sobothstausee or to the top of the Koralpe pass, the wine plain as well as in 30 minutes to the strongholds of the Buschenschanken and famous names of internationally renowned wineries in Gamlitz, Ehrenhausen, Ratsch or Glanz on the southern Styrian wine route. Austria's second largest city and cultural jewel, Graz is about 55km north of us and can also be reached by public transport from the farm (train only 600m walking distance!) in about 1 hour.

Public transport fans beware - you can hardly find this anywhere else: despite our quiet, secluded location, the nearest train station is only 600m away on foot - however, due to the gentle elevation on which our farm is located, there is no occasional train traffic to be heard .
The GKB express train line (Graz-Köflach Bahn, timetable: https://www.gkb.at/index.php/fahrplaene-fahrgastinfo/fahrplan-bahn) "Wies-Eibiswald" runs approximately every hour and takes you from us - Bergla train station -St.Martin - in about 1 hour to the center of Graz (Graz main station).
The GKB also allows bicycles to be taken on the train; the area can also be easily explored by bicycle (for those with less experience, e-bikes are recommended - very hilly!)
By car:
