In the winter of 2006 we discovered a small Old Småland village that had been abandoned for 40 years, near Astrid Lindgren's birthplace, Vimmerby, and such places as Katthult and Bullerby, known by Michel and Co. After extensive renovation and expansion work, it has now developed into a wonderful holiday village with very committed employees, in which sustainability, ecology and vegan living play a major role.

The village consists of three former typical Småland farms and is located in the middle of a fairytale forest and original pasture landscape. A river suitable for canoeing and beautiful lakes can be reached on foot, with our free bicycles or by car and the entire area is pure nature and relaxation! We gave our village the name “Lilla Sverigebyn” (The Little Swedish Village) because it is so typical of our country with its red wooden houses in the old Swedish architectural style. Our guests can enjoy the charm of old times without having to forego modern furnishings. Dear guests, we invite you to experience first-hand how people, animals and nature can live together peacefully and in freedom, in the spirit of Astrid Lindgren. In the holiday village there is suitable accommodation for everyone, whether in a small red hut, in a room in the large villa, a holiday home or even in a rented or your own tent - you can feel comfortable anywhere.

All common rooms, leisure material and our extensive leisure program are free for our guests: exciting indoor and outdoor play and activity areas for the youngest, table tennis, darts, trampoline, bicycles, barn cinema, free-roaming tame animals, pop gymnastics, yoga, forest meditation, hiking, jogging, Orienteering, campfires, children's entertainment and more. The “feed barn” is included. Here, a small, highly motivated kitchen team prepares everything with the best ingredients and a lot of love, and on warm, long Swedish summer evenings, the guests enjoy their conjured food particularly well on the terrace in the middle of the countryside. In the dining room there is a play area with lots of toys and materials for the little ones and board games for the older ones. This means the adults can enjoy their meal or an extra cup of Fairtrade coffee or tea in peace, while the little ones are happy and busy. This is how it should be on vacation. As far as possible, our restaurant kitchen uses seasonal and organic food, preferably from the region and sometimes from our own permaculture garden. All of the delicious dishes are prepared using no animal raw materials. A really good, vital breakfast is offered in the morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The varied buffet is a colorful feast for the eyes made of healthy, fresh and tasty products directly from nature and organic farming!

Good as a souvenir or to eat straight away. We also offer you self-made ecological and purely plant-based natural cosmetics. You should definitely try homemade vegan ice cream made from rice milk and fresh fruit from the little ice cream shop in the village reception. You can enjoy a good cup of original Fairtrade espresso, coffee or tea with a delicious piece of veggie cake or Sverigebyns Chokiknäck in the idyllic café garden.

Our vitality weeks, nature weeks and animal lover weeks with daily exciting free programs for all ages are particularly recommended. During these theme weeks we offer a 25% discount on the regular half board price! During the theme weeks there are free small events, depending on the weather and the personal interests of our guests (everything is prepared, but we then decide every day), these can be: suitable films in our barn cinema (features and documentaries), social gatherings around the campfire with conversations on exciting topics, lectures on a natural lifestyle, short walks together with our animals, crafts and works with natural materials, painting and drawing, workshop "homemade vegan spreads", pop gymnastics outdoors, yoga and meditation hikes, cross-country jogging, Barefoot dancing in the green grass, fairytale aunt with animal, forest, troll and feel-good stories.

Most offers are also suitable for children. We adapt to age.
