What is behind the ABCERT certification (DE-ÖKO-006)?

ABCERT is a Germany-based company that provides support for certification in organic farming . Within the scope of its tasks, ABCERT checks the legal and private law standards of organically produced feed and food as well as their processing at the companies to be certified. This also includes the testing of traded and imported feed and food. This supporting advice contains measures for obtaining various certifications such as GlobalGAP , QS or QS-GAP and certifications based on legal standards.
Another area of ​​ABCERT includes testing and certification measures for wood processing companies as well as climate protection .

ABCERT has 7 locations throughout Germany and employs more than 100 people. There is also a branch in Italy and an office in Russia and the Czech Republic.

The main basis of ABCERT's measures is based on the EC Organic Regulation of January 1st, 2009 including its implementing regulation. According to this regulation, feed and food produced in Germany as well as imported food that has been produced or processed according to certain ecological processes and techniques must meet different criteria, compliance with which is monitored by the control authorities of the federal states. ABCERT advises and supports companies so that their products ultimately meet the criteria of the regulation.
