Bio Suisse Bud - people, animals and nature in balance

Bio Suisse is an umbrella organization that is also the owner of the Knospe brand. There are more than 5,800 agricultural businesses and garden centers in this umbrella organization, which corresponds to around 90% of all organic businesses in Switzerland , which in turn are divided into 32 member organizations. The umbrella organization is responsible for the organization and development of the Knospe brand and at the same time for the organic cultivation of members' crops and plants in Switzerland. With the Bud as a brand, Bio Suisse guarantees compliance with certain guidelines for the production of organic products and their processing.

The umbrella organization Bio Suisse is linked to more than 800 trading and processing companies by means of a license agreement, which in turn process and sell Bud products in accordance with the specified guidelines.

As a certification body for Swiss organic products with the Bud label, Bio Suisse provides certain guidelines to producers, processors and traders. For producers or agricultural businesses, this includes, among other things:

The defining feature of the Bud guidelines is the elimination of unnecessary processing steps, which is of course ultimately reflected in sustainability and resource conservation. Bud salad oils are generally cold-pressed, not only to keep the taste and quality of the oils high, but also to avoid processes that place unnecessary strain on the ecological budget, such as warm or hot pressing of oil seeds. Another example is the pasteurization of organic cream, which in Bud products is produced in such a way that the temperatures are limited in order to avoid unnecessary addition of stabilizers. Highly pasteurized cream must be additionally stabilized if it is to be whipped into cream.

Production and processing are examined by independent Bio Suisse inspectors , whereby raw materials, processing steps and recipes must comply with Bio Suisse guidelines .
