Description of room amenities:
With us, you book more than just an overnight stay. The Schmilka experience combines conscious sleep, organic cuisine and special experiences.
The organic guesthouse Forsthaus was renovated and designed according to building biology principles. Natural materials such as wooden floors, natural paints and textiles, and natural latex mattresses characterize the apartments. Selected antique furniture underlines the historical-romantic character of the house.
Schmilka's holistic approach is also evident in its year-round cultural and experiential programs, the so-called rituals. Look forward to a wide range of activities such as morning yoga, guided hikes, workshops and sound meditations. Guided tours of the historic mill and the in-house brewery also offer visitors the opportunity to get to know Schmilka and its history better.
In addition to the wellness facilities, the Bio-Hotel Helvetia houses the independently operated naturopathic practice of naturopath and nutritionist Norbert Schützner. He offers individually tailored naturopathic health treatments as well as therapeutic and relaxing massages. -

Honest cuisine, organic delights, and genuine craftsmanship go hand in hand in Schmilka.
At Restaurant StrandGut, you can expect fresh, seasonal cuisine featuring certified organic ingredients. We prioritize regional produce and offer vegetarian and vegan options alongside classic dishes. Start your day with a diverse organic breakfast buffet.
At the historic Schmilka Mill, things get truly authentic: bread, rolls, cakes, and other baked goods are made in our own organic bakery. Our Schmilka organic beer is also brewed on-site in the adjoining brewery.
Whether it's breakfast, a slice of cake from the organic bakery, a freshly tapped beer, or a delicious dinner – Schmilka's gastronomy combines organic quality, regional ingredients, and artisanal production with our honest cuisine.

Details on construction methods and room concepts:
With us you don't just reserve a simple overnight stay - with us you reserve the three pillars of the organic refuge: healthy sleep, organic cuisine and unique experiences!
The houses in Schmilka have been renovated in an ecologically friendly manner, and the guest rooms are furnished according to building biology standards: with soaped wooden floors, natural colors and textiles and natural latex mattresses.
What should be emphasized is the holistic focus on organic and health. This is also reflected in our year-round cultural programs - the so-called rituals. A variety of experiences await you - morning yoga, guided hikes, herbal workshops and sound meditation. But guided tours of the historic mill and the in-house brewery are also a must.
The offer is rounded off by a natural healing practice in which alternative practitioner and nutritionist Norbert Schützner offers a diverse program of therapeutic massages and wellness treatments.

Details of the implemented measures:
In Schmilka, we focus on concrete measures and a conscious approach to resources in many areas. In the kitchen, we use high-quality, certified organic ingredients and, wherever possible, prioritize seasonal, regional produce. Fresh preparation and on-site processing are integral to our understanding of honest cuisine.
We also prioritize concrete solutions for energy use: The business operates on green electricity from renewable sources. Our own herb, vegetable, and tomato garden is another key element of the Schmilka concept.
Another focus is on the careful preservation of the existing building structure. The Forsthaus organic guesthouse was renovated and designed according to ecological building principles. Natural materials such as wooden floors, natural paints and textiles, and natural latex mattresses characterize the apartments and underscore the unique character of the historic building. -

Description of the spa offer:
Just let your mind wander…
The focus during the careful renovation of our bathhouse was on holistic well-being. Designed according to ecological building principles, natural materials such as clay, chopped hay and quark plaster on the walls, as well as local, only soaped woods, characterize the special atmosphere of the bathhouse. The subtle scent of the wood complements the relaxed atmosphere. Soothing sauna infusions with pure essential oils make every sauna session a special treat. Gemstone water is available for your refreshment between sauna sessions.
Our panoramic sauna impresses with its view of the picturesque mill courtyard. Relax in the classic Finnish sauna at 90°C or enjoy the gentler bio sauna at 65–70°C – ideal for a relaxing break.
The bathhouse experience is complemented by a diverse range of massages and health treatments in the independently operated naturopathic practice of naturopath and nutritionist Norbert Schützner at the Bio-Hotel Helvetia. He offers individually tailored services – from relaxing massages to therapeutic treatments. - spa
