The term "reduced electrosmog" describes a nature hotel's commitment to consciously minimizing exposure to artificially generated electromagnetic fields. Electrosmog is generated by electrical devices, wireless communication, and technical installations, and is ubiquitous in modern life.
Electrosmog is a colloquial term for electric, magnetic, and high-frequency fields generated by technical sources that produce electromagnetic radiation. These include fields from mobile phones, Wi-Fi, electrical wiring, and household appliances. The term "electrosmog" is not physically defined but describes the exposure to these artificial fields.
According to current scientific research (e.g., by authorities such as the Federal Office for Radiation Protection), no clear harmful effects of everyday electromagnetic radiation on health have been proven when legal limits are observed. Effects above these limits – such as thermal heating of tissue – are known, and long-term health consequences of low everyday exposures are still being investigated.
Some studies suggest that very high and persistent stress, especially in the workplace, may be associated with nonspecific symptoms such as sleep problems, stress, or difficulty concentrating. However, the research is inconclusive, and scientific opinions vary.
Even though the medical evidence for low-frequency fields is controversial, some people feel very sensitive to electromagnetic radiation. Hotels that offer their guests peace, relaxation, and health-oriented stays therefore consciously implement measures to reduce electrosmog. This includes reducing technological exposure in sleeping and relaxation areas.
Hotels with reduced electrosmog levels implement different strategies to minimize the burden on guests:
In addition to the hotel's design, guests can take some measures themselves to reduce electromagnetic exposure in everyday life, such as:
An electrosmog-reduced nature hotel creates a conscious, potentially relaxing environment – for guest comfort, restful sleep and a mindful wellness experience.
